Chemical Treatment

Chemical treatment- Anti-termite soil barrier

The "Liquid Chemical Barrier Method" has been in practice in Sri Lanka for the control of termites until recently. In chemical termite treatment, an approved termiticide is applied on to the soil around the building so that termites are prevented from entering the protected structure.

How chemical barriers work?

Conventional termite control relies on establishing a continuous chemical barrier using an approved termiticide, in the soil around both sides of the foundation of a building. As a result, there is no part of the structure that the termites can access without tunneling through the treated soil. For houses and buildings with crawl-spaces, treatment includes applications to the soil around piers supporting the floor system. This barrier prevents foraging termites from reaching the foundation and piers and ultimately, they are either repelled or killed before they could do any damage to the wood in the property.

Chemical Termite Barrier

A chemical termite barrier involves applying a liquid chemical to the soil, either under concrete flooring and/or around the entire perimeter of the building's foundation. HPMD Termite Control specialists are trained to take care of your house or commercial entity, working closely with you to create an effective barrier with minimum disruption to the premises and its surroundings.

Why use a Chemical Termite Barrier?

A chemical barrier is suitable for individuals who want to be precautious towards protecting their house or commercial entity from termite infestations. Other termite barriers have to be put in place while construction is taking place, but a chemical barrier has an advantage that it can be implemented at any time.

Types of Chemical Barrier

There are various types of chemical termite barriers, for example, some chemicals are designed to kill termites and others are designed to deter them. Every termite situation is different, so choosing the suitable termite chemical barrier is essential. Our experienced Termite Control Technicians are trained regularly to gain new knowledge, techniques well as on latest technology, so they can empower you to make appropriate choices.
